Mango on Sticky Rice

The simple but delicious mango on sticky rice is one of the most popular Thai desserts for decades.

Mango on Sticky Rice is a traditional summer dessert because mangoes are in season during the summer months of April and May in Thailand.  It is classic Thai street food and a popular restaurant dessert. This version is easy to make at home with coconut milk and fresh mangos.

1 cup Thai sweet rice (Budha by Sunlee sticky rice)
1 1/2 cups water
1 (13.5-ounce) can Budha by Sunlee coconut milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 to 5 tablespoons brown sugar, to taste, divided
1 to 2 ripe mangoes
